Were you unable to catch the premiere of Fast & Furious 9 during the Super Bowl? Here is your chance now to check it out below on my blog.
Did you catch the movie trailer for Fast and Furious 9? If you didn’t, I am here to give you the rundown of what was shown and my review on the trailer/upcoming film.
3 minutes and 50 seconds, that is how long this trailer is. Just enough to put together a trailer with guns, violence, punches, cars flipping over and surprise guests.
Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, is a father now in the upcoming film. The team is back together and this could be the end of the ride. As they go after a master thief who is played by no other than John Cena. Yes people, another movie where John Cena is used for his muscular looks and abilities.
John Cena is playing the master thief character, Jacob who is also Dom Toretto’s brother. Now as this franchise is based off of family, why wasn’t this mentioned in the eight other films?
As fun it is watching this saga blow up cars and get into intense gun/fist fights. I miss how unique this franchise used to be. With unique cars, car designs and just the driving in general.
Before and after Paul Walker’s death, it seems they kind of lost their way. For what they are known for, and it is basically just the cars itself. Are they going to continue to make another Fast Furious? Think about it, Vin Diesel catches a car in the trailer, seriously? It is starting to get unrealistic and now just more of what they can do to make money.
Bring back the driving and family over anything, forget about the guns, bombs, explosion. If it isn’t about cars and driving anymore, what are these movies about than?
But let’s talk about the elephant in the room.
The Fast & Furious franchise has brought Sung Kang, where they gave us a tease in the trailer. Where he is also known as Han, where his death was depicted multiple times in the nine-films series. Showing in “Tokyo Drift,” “Fast & Furious 6” and in the beginning of “Furious 7”.
So pretty much, we have seen Han’s character die many times. How is this man still alive? What is the reasoning for bringing him back in the first place?
I can’t put my mind in place that they are bringing him back from the dead? When Han died earlier in “Tokyo Drift” I sobbed in tears and was heartbroken. For them to bring him back, that is like juggling with my emotions, especially when I had no clue they were even thinking of bringing him back into the franchise.
Honestly, I can say that whatever they have planned for his role in the movie, it is going to be interesting. Especially to see how they will plan it all out so that the viewers are intrigued.
Fast & Furious 9 will be out in theaters May 22, 2020, look forward to a 2 hour and 15 minute long film.
