It has been a good four months since the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield and within that time, so many people have started and completed a new Pokedex.
Within the new releases of Pokemon, some have become fan favorites and others just fell to the bottom. However, today, we’ll be talking about my top 10 favorite Pokemon from the news games. These are just my personal opinions, if you have a different one, cool.
Jumping straight into it, number two, Wooloo.
This cute little sheep was one of the first Pokemon to be shared and from the moment I saw it, I fell in love. This normal type can be found super early in the game and your rival uses one in his main team. This Pokemon has an adorable cry and a cute rolling animation when it battle and it would be lying to say we all didn’t find it to be absolutely adorable.
Number nine, Alcremie.
Next in line is Alcremie. I didn’t play through the game with this guy but it is the first Pokemon I decided to shiny hunt. Other than looking like my favorite cheat meal, this Pokemon has 70 different forms (wow). Each form looks like a different type of ice cream and it is the best thing ever. I am currently working towards collecting all the different forms because doing that sounds a lot more fun than doing homework.
Number eight, Applin.
This apple is definitely one of my new favorite Pokemon. You can find Applin pretty early on in the game and my favorite thing about this Pokemon is its typing. It is a grass and dragon type. Super weird but I love it. I also have an apple tattoo so there’s that.
Number seven, Pincurchin.
Even though this Pokemon has got an intimidating look to it, I think it’s extremely adorable. To me, he looks like a cute old man, if old men were Pokemon. It’s cute little nose, the coloring, his tiny feet, his triangle eyes and the color combo was enough to make me fall in love with him. Your rival uses one throughout the game to so you get to see him often.
Number six, Clobbopus.
This one is pure looks and concept. I love the karate octopus concept of this Pokemon. Its evolution is pretty cool but this little octo-boy is just pure cuteness. I would love to have one of these as a pet.
Number five, Corviknight.
This guy is just straight up one of the best Pokemon designs I have seen. This Pokemon is the regions regional bird and in past games, Gamefreak has either knocked it out of the park or people tend to forget about the Pokemon. This time, they really killed it. You can grab this Pokemon right when the game starts, it was the first Pokemon I caught. It is a steel and flying type which is fits the Pokemon’s design very well. Having it on my team was definitely the right decision.
Number four, Hatterene.
Before I talk about this Pokemon, listen to its Pokedex entry from Pokemon Shield, “If you’re too loud around it, you risk being torn apart by the claws on its tentacle. This Pokémon is also known as the Forest Witch.” You don’t want to mess with this Pokemon and its strength shows during battle. It look so intimidating yet so adorable. As simple as it’s design may be, I love the pink and blue combo and the witch hat.
Number three, Sirfetch’d.
This Pokemon is literally the definition of Pokemon Sword and Shield. Having one on the team, it came in clutch, A LOT. Also, I love how these games decided to take a very old Pokemon, give it a new evolution and have us all fall in love with it all over.
Number two, Sobble.
This little guy stole my heart when I saw him. Since I was younger, I had always chose the water type (except Bulbasaur was my favorite Gen. One starter, #sorrynotsorry). This time around, I was not disappointed. It’s really cute and precious and when it reached it final evolution, it turns into an epic water ninja. That’s basically enough reason to have you agree with this, sobble is 100% the best starter.
Number One, Toxtricity.
Let me say, this is my new favorite Pokemon. Look at this poison and electric type lizard, it’s design was enough to make me love it. However, it just kept impressing. It has great stats, does good as a header since it has a good move pool and hits very hard. Also, its previous evolution is a little poison baby and it is just adorable.
Again, this list is just an opinion, if you have a different one, I don’t care. Just kidding but if you do, leave it in the comments and give me a reason to change my mind.
