“The Ghost Who Walks” is about an imprisoned criminal who ends up ratting on his former boss for another chance in life. Another chance to reconnect with his family and become the father he never was. It is more of a raw film, basically meaning that the camera work and acting seems rough but it works. It works in a way that makes the movie feel real and different.

During the film, you are taken on this fast paced journey to find hope at the end. Nolan (Garland Scott) being in prison for five years is given freedom to see on the other side of the bars. Though, in order to be given that freedom, he had to be a rat on his former boss. Becoming a rat has given Nolan a death sentence as soon as he walks out to freedom street. Once Nolan is free, he is on the hunt to find his family and reconnect with his ex and daughter (who he has never met) to move on to something better. He goes through challenges that get in the way to seeing his family. Donnie (Gill Darnell), his former boss, is tracking him down and trying to kill him. This is where the adrenaline ride begins to the unknown of what will happen next. As all of this is happening in one night, the question is, will Nolan be able to make it through the night to save his family or has he already met his ghost that will lead him to death?

You feel the pain that comes from Nolan giving up a reputation to become a rat to see his family. It has you thinking how far someone would go to fix a broken family? He risks his life to go back to a city that sees him as nothing but a snitch. His friends, family all turn their backs on them and unless you watch “The Ghost Who Walks,” you’ll never know if he meets his daughter. The uncertainty throughout the film has your heart beating 127bpm and head spinning of what is going to happen next and if he’ll survive. You are able to find the film on Netflix, you won’t be disappointed as there is so much value that was put into the film. You will feel agitated and heartbroken for what Nolan has to go through to see his family after five years in prison.

Would you become a rat to see your family again and have to walk around like a ghost your whole life? Consider this film to be more of an eye opener of stakes that have to be taken to see the shining light.

Check out “The Ghost Who Walks” to see something more raw and authentic, different from something you’re not used to. Step out of your comfort zone and see what Nolan’s world is like after becoming a rat.
