Micah Roth’s Mock Draft 2.0

Could Justin Herbert be Tom Brady's successor in New England ...
Chargers news: Los Angeles really likes Utah State QB Jordan Love

It’s the week of the Draft, here is my updated mock draft.

1. Cincinnati Bengals — Joe Burrow QB, LSU

Burrow has so many things going for him, from his accuracy to his leadership and competitiveness, this is the type of guy the Bengals can build a future on.

2. Washington Redskins — Chase Young Edge, Ohio State

Young is too good to pass on and Riverboat Ron would love to have the top defensive guy as the first pick in his new regime.

3. Detroit Lions — Jeff Okudah CB, Ohio State

Look for the Lions to trade back here but Okudah will be one of the top CBs in the league day one to whatever team he goes too.

4. NY Giants — Tristan Wirfs OT/OG, Iowa

Wirfs wowed scouts at the combine by running a 4.7 40 at 322lbs. He is the exact player the Giants are missing on offense with his speed and explosion on blocks. This type of pick pays big in protecting Danny Dimes and Barkley for years to come.

5. Miami Dolphins — Tua Tagovailoa QB, Alabama

A lot of people have the Fins taking Herbert over Tua but I cannot see a team in desperate need of their QB of the future to pass on a talent like Tua. His pro-day video showed his recovery process coming along quite nicely and he looked like a clone of Russell Wilson.

6. LA Chargers — Jordan Love QB, Utah State

The Chargers could roll the dice and go with Jordan Love here since they have season veteran Tyrod Taylor (I think back to the chiefs with Alex Smith then getting Mahomes) but I don’t know if they feel they can pull the trigger on that much of a question mark. Herbert might be the pick here.

7. Carolina Panthers — Isaiah Simmons LB, Clemson

The Panthers are moving into a whole new regime under Matt Rule and no better way than to build your defense with a guy who can literally play any position on the field and is faster than any offensive player he will face.

8. Arizona Cardinals — Jedrick Wills Jr. OT, Alabama

Kyler Murray showed how dynamic he can be. Now the Cardinals need to help him out by getting a top offensive lineman in the draft in Willis.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars — DT Derrick Brown, Auburn

I do not think they will draft Brown because they will most likely be trading this pick away. But Brown is a top talent in this draft so it would be hard to pass on him even though they have a stacked d-line.

10. Cleveland Browns — Mekhi Becton OT, Louisville

It seems like if the Browns can get a solid offensive line that they should be a top team and you cannot get more solid than Becton at 6-foot-7, 369 lbs.

11. New York Jets — Jerry Jeudy WR, Alabama

The Jets need some type of play maker on offense to help Darnold out and Jeudy is my top WR in the draft.

12. Las Vegas Raiders — CeeDee Lamb WR, Oklahoma

Raiders need a tier one receiver to really complete their offense and Lamb is one of the top if not the top WR in this year’s draft.

13. San Francisco 49ers — Henry Ruggs III WR, Alabama

Kyle Shanahan loves offensive speed weapons and Ruggs is the fastest WR in the Draft. Shanahan is trying to build a similar speed receiving core to the Chiefs who beat them in the Super Bowl.

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — OL Andrew Thomas, Georgia

By some miracle, the Buccaneers got Tom Brady, now it is time to protect him.

15. Denver Broncos— Justin Jefferson WR, LSU

The Broncos will probably trade back here, or we could see another receiver off the board with Jefferson. He was Joe Burrows go to man and is good at finding a way to get separation.

16. Atlanta Falcons — K’Lavon Chaisson Edge, LSU

Vic Beasley is gone, and the Falcons need a top tier pass rusher and I think they find one in Chaisson.

17. Dallas Cowboys — C.J. Henderson CB, Florida

Byron Jones is gone so the Cowboys need to fill that hole in the secondary. Henderson is the best player for their needs.

18. Miami Dolphins — Xavier McKinney S, Alabama

The Dolphins traded their safety Minkah Fitzpatrick away, so this pick is to help fill that void.

19. Las Vegas Raiders — Javon Kinlaw DL, South Carolina

Ever since Mack was traded away, a solid pass rusher has been in need for the Raiders. This pick could finally get things going for that pass rush

20. Jacksonville Jaguars — Jaylon Johnson CB, Utah

Both A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey are out of Jacksonville so the need for them is the secondary. Johnson will help fill some voids.

21. Philadelphia Eagles — Tee Higgins WR, Clemson

With all the injuries to the Eagles receiving core last year, Higgins is a reliable big body receiver to help Carson Wentz out.

22. Minnesota Vikings — DL Marlon Davidson, Auburn

The failure to re-sign Everson Griffen makes me think the Vikings will go with a d-lineman and Davidson is one of the top prospects.

23. New England Patriots — Justin Herbert QB, Oregon

Do I think Herbert will fall down to the 23rd pick? No, I do not. But if my Jordan Love to the Chargers pick pans out Herbert could potentially fall right into the lap of BB.

24. New Orleans Saints — Kenneth Murray LB, Oklahoma

He has slowly become my favorite LB in this year’s draft besides Simmons. Murray is long, fast, and will fit perfectly into the new run and chase LB schemes. Teams are looking for guys who can cover sideline to sideline and be able to cover. Murray has skills for it all.

25. Minnesota Vikings — A.J. Terrell CB, Clemson

With Xavier Rhodes gone the Vikings are looking for a CB to fill that hole and Terrell has the ability to fit right in that system.

26. Miami Dolphins — D’Andre Swift RB, Georgia

Swift is the top running back in this year’s draft and would be a needed weapon to help take some of the load off of Tua.

27. Seattle Seahawks — Josh Jones OL, Houston

The Seahawks are in need of some protection up front. Jones can be a bit of a swiss army knife for them.

28. Baltimore Ravens — Patrick Queen LB, LSU

Queen is going to fit right in with the Ravens. Queen is fast and physical. He had good instincts and closes the space between him and the ball carrier quickly.

29. Tennessee Titans — Ross Blacklock DT, TCU

Titans have an opportunity to add a serious force in Blacklock. He has heavy hands and will be a great addition to the blue-collar force in Tennessee.

30. Green Bay Packers — Logan Wilson LB, Wyoming

Wilson is a cold weather dog on defense. He has tremendous instincts and nose for the football. He is fast, rangy, and has good ball skills. Wilson will fit nicely up there in Green Bay.

31. San Francisco 49ers — Ezra Cleveland OT, Boise State

The 9ers need some more insurance on the o-line and they need to make sure Jimmy G stays protected.

32. Kansas City Chiefs — Trevon Diggs CB, Alabama

More help on defense for the Chiefs with this pick. They could also go for a LB here but I like Diggs here to help defend the back end.
