Earlier today (April 20, 2020), Nintendo released a trailer for its new and upcoming game, Windbound. The trailer is only a minute and 41 seconds but that small time frame carried enough to make this gamer, as well as others, excited to see more.
The video starts off with Kara, the main protagonist, struggling to operate her boat during a fearsome storm. After some time, she is thrown into the ocean and washes up on the shore of a mysterious island.

As she struggles to get up, some shots of the surrounding environment are shown; a red beetle, two boar-like creatures, some sort of wild pig and a big red predator cat. Next, Kara is seen running around the island and after, she encounters a blue and purple groundhog with adorable ears. Seconds past and the next shot is used to show Kara shooting the groundhog with a bow and arrow.
Nighttime rolls around and Kara can be seen lighting a fire. As the night drifts away, Kara is seen making a boat the following day and uses it to travel the surrounding area.
She comes across some sort of structure in her travels. While exploring the structure, she needs to make a jump to get to the opposing side. As she jumps, she pulls out a glider that resembles the glider from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (another game Nintendo has created).

After this jump, the real action begins. Kara is seen traveling in a boat that is much bigger than the one we saw earlier. She is seen passing by another island that has a storm going on in the background, has a battle with the same big red predator cat we saw earlier with a spear, she then battles some sort of green reptile with a bow and arrow, traveling through a stormy ocean with an even bigger/upgraded boat and also battles a lizard-like creature with a flail.

After the battle with the blue lizard seen above, Kara comes upon this huge structure. As she travels into the structure, she comes upon this round glowing light. The light flashes and the flash takes over the screen and then shows the title of the games and some other information (a website, release date, etc.).

Taking this whole trailer into consideration, I can not wait to play this game. The art style and graphics of the game are pretty detailed but are also very pleasing to the eyes. Everything seems so smooth and relaxing. However, the things you will encounter in this game differ from a relaxing time.
The best way I can describe it is if Minecraft met The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and they had a baby (I guess the resemblance in gliders is on brand). This game seems like the one you would play to relax a bit, enjoy your time while also being frustrating with some challenging bosses, the perfect combination if you ask me.
I cannot wait to see more trailers of this game and hopefully will be playing it in August, a review of the game will be in order … stay tuned.
