Finding Out The Summer 2021 Trends So You Don’t Have To

Summer is just around the corner and Gen Z is looking to influencers to tell them what will be some of the hottest trends of the season. From popular TikTok stars to YouTube sensations, here’s what we know so far…

When it comes to fashion, there’s no denying that Emma Chamberlain has a dominant voice in what becomes trendy. She inspired the popular shoelace belt, which became a global phenomenon in the world of teens. From her consistent partnerships with legendary fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chamberlain has established herself as a credible source for fashion tips. In her latest video, “WHAT I’M WEARING THIS SUMMER,” she gives viewers some helpful outfit tips on what she deems as ‘fashionable’ this upcoming season. Other popular social media influencers have contributed to the summer 2021 “lookbook,” and Gen Z is taking notes.

Starting off, we have the cut-out shirts which have become a staple in seemingly every influencer’s closet. What can be said about modern-day fashion is that it must be either excessively oversized or unnecessarily cropped… there’s no in between.

Clothing materials tend to come in and out of style and just like corduroy, satin is back and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while.

Halter tops have become the latest phenomenon and influencers are even giving tips on how to DIY halter tops from basic, everyday clothing items. In the same way, videos on how to turn an old tank top into a cute summertime mini skirt have gone viral.

Matching sets were a major hit this past winter season — so much so that they are seeping into summer fashion as well.

Apparently, one shoulder tops, dresses and swimsuits are the ideal neckline for this upcoming summer.

Influencers are loving the idea of matching sets as they require little effort in picking out an outfit while still looking “bomb.” A mini top with a matching cardigan is an easy route for looking stylish this summer.

Apparently staying “cool” in the summer heat is not a priority for Gen Z this season. But beauty is pain, right?

Apart from fashion, this upcoming “hot girl summer” is not limited to clothes and accessories. In fact, chlorophyll water has broken the internet as an energy booster and skin healer. Both influencers and general internet users are participating in this trend and encouraging viewers to get their hands on a bottle this season.

As a runner-up for the most popular trends circulating around Tik Tok these days we have the “Gua Sha.” This tool has gained massive amounts of attention on the internet for face shaping and de-puffing, and similar to the chlorophyll water, it’s being praised for its seemingly instant results, which audiences are enthusiastic about considering summer is almost upon us.

Tutorials for heatless curls have had their moment in the spotlight as well and it’s looking like the excitement for this trend won’t be going away anytime soon as it’s the perfect non-damaging summer hairstyle.

From platform Converse to Drew House Crocs to hair scarves to pops of color to wearing triangle bikini tops upside down, influencers haven’t held back in offering style tips to viewers. While this summer’s lookbook is quite voguish, these styles just may break your bank account.
